Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area (BPWMA) is located in the towns of Hanson and Halifax. The area is composed of 1,625 acres of land for public use, making it one of the largest conservation areas in the region. The BPWMA is made up mainly of swampy lands, old cranberry bogs, and cedar forests, creating diverse habitats for wildlife and vegetation.
This expansive conservation area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, biking, and birding throughout the year. Hunting is permitted except on Sundays, making it a popular destination for a variety of outdoor activities.
